Our fall season is full of exciting new developments, projects, and opportunities to connect!
First, we are delighted to welcome Olivia Delachanal to the team as our new Mediation Project Coordinator. Welcome, Olivia! 🙂
This arrival also coincides with the departure of our dear Lila Geneix, who has held this position for several years. Thank you, Lila, for your dedication to the company. We are incredibly proud to have witnessed your growth within EJ|DCD and to count you as part of our big family. Lila will continue to be involved with us as a performer and as a member of our newly established Cultural Mediation Committee.
This committee brings together performer-mediators from the company to develop mediation projects, ensure coherence across our practices, and explore new approaches grounded in the realities of the field, with the goal of creating meaningful artistic experiences for participants.
Starting in September, workshops for CAMÉLÉON also begin in partnership with the Centre Lasallien and the Société des arts technologiques (SAT). This project explores the concept of the danced portrait with youth through the integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. The workshops will culminate in an exhibition showcasing the creations developed by participating teenagers.
Two mediation workshop series will also take place this fall. In October, we are relaunching our longstanding project FUTURS RÉCIPROQUES, which brings together seniors and teenagers, this time in the neighbourhoods of Outremont, Côte-des-Neiges, and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. This new iteration of the project will unfold over the next year and a half.
Also in October, Emmanuel will be visiting the École de danse de Québec to create a duet choreography with the first-year cohort of the professional training program.
Finally, we are thrilled to be part of the LA MÈCHE COURTE Youth Festival with our new project PORTRAITS PERMÉABLES, presented on November 6 in Montreal. Through an audio-guided embodied score, the project invites audience members to become the protagonists of the work. This experience is also designed especially for teenagers.
A vibrant, dynamic fall season filled above all with meaningful encounters!
